Over the last couple of days I've been pondering life and death. Yes that sounds a little dark, but with the recent death of my Nanna and the 10 year anniversary of the 2009 Victorian Bushfires or Black Saturday and my experience as a volunteer firefighter at the time (read more here), it has me thinking how fleeting life can be. One moment we are here and the next we are not. For some people this is a prolonged experience and for others it is in an instant. So I thought about the things I've been wanting to do but I've just sat on my hands and not done anything about. It is time to do these things. To book them in and commit. I don't want to die missing out on experiences I've wanted to have because I was too lazy, too busy or (insert excuses here). With all that in mind, I shared on Instagram this thought and my three things that I am going to do this year. I am going to book them in, spread them out over the year and FINALLY do a couple of things I've been wanting to do for years. I have a list of things I want to do before I die, but I thought I'd pick out THREE things to start off with. Not too big of a number that feels overwhelming, just a couple which is easy to commit to and see through. My three things are: 1. Go to a pottery class. I want to make my own mug. I'm a big lover of hot drinks (coffee, herbal tea and hot cacao) and I would love to sit there with a mug in hand that I have made. 2. Go to the movies on my own. This sounds so liberating and exciting. Sitting there with popcorn and Malteasers all to myself, crying and/or laughing. Enjoying my own company and owning it fully. 3. Book in an AirBnb or B&B and spending a night away on my own. No kids interrupting me while having a shower or going to the toilet, the bed to myself with not cats laying on my lap and doing whatever I want to do for 24 hours. Sleep, read, eat, watch movies, take myself to brunch and maybe even get a massage. Oh my gosh, yes please! I am so excited by the thought of finally doing these things. Now over to you, what are YOUR things? Let me know in the comments below. We only have one chance, so take life by the balls and do those things. Report back and let me know how you go. I'll make sure I share with you how I go as well. Be happy & healthy,
