Who is Deanne and what is maa organics? Deanne is a lovely lady who I have connected with over the wonderful world of Facebook we are also both currently completing B-School. She is a Holistic Health Coach, Aromatherapist, Organic Skincare Designer & Massage and Spa Therapist. This very talented and beautiful lady is the owner of maa organics who takes all the ingredients from nature to nourish and nurture your mind, body and soul. I feel relaxed already...grab a hot cuppa, sit down and soak up this lovely interview... + How did you get to where you are today? Oh gosh! What a good question! I'd have to say persistence, motivation, seeking out change, positivity and a deep belief that everything always works out for the best. And as a beautiful icing on the cake I have had the unwavering support of my husband, Andrew, for the past (almost) 18 years. + What motivates you each and every day? My work motivates me. Knowing I help people makes me happy. I feel truly lucky to be able to do what I do. + What quote do you live by at the moment? Well, at the moment I try to live by this one 'you are right where you need to be'. I have to be honest and say I find it hard sometimes but I really do believe that even if things aren't as you'd like them to be right now as long as you're taking action to move towards that place it will happen. There is a reason for everything. + What has been your biggest struggle on your journey?
Confidence and putting myself out there has been huge for me. Moving to Far North Queensland 10 years ago, knowing virtually no-one and starting my own business has done wonders for building my confidence. I've accepted that it's ok to be an introvert and am far more confident being 'me' these days. It's a continuing journey though. I'm making another big move soon and am so nervous, but so so excited about meeting new people and putting myself out there, which I know will help me grow personally and professionally. + What food can you not live without? Could you ask a more difficult question?! Raw cacao keeps popping into my mind, but that could be because I'm planning on experimenting with raw chocolate recipes this weekend. Cashews are pretty scrumptious too! Must I stop there?...berries of every variety, mango, sweet potato, blue cheese, goji berries, bananas, nut butter, mushrooms, black rice...ok I'll stop now!!! + Do you have a daily routine? If so, what is it? My morning routine is very simple as I'm not fond of mornings at all! I absolutely must have my lemon juice with warm water, followed by a 5 minute breath meditation and aromatherapy inhalation to set me up for the day ahead. This could be closely followed by a green smoothie or coffee with Andrew if I have time. My client appointments change from day to day and I do the other things I'm working on around this. I am strict about how many clients I see each day so I can give my very best to each of them and not burn out. My evenings vary, I always cook a healthy dinner for Andrew and I. I aim to go for a walk at least 4 times a week. I study or blog 4 - 5 nights a week. I do a 15 minute meditation before bed and always have a book or two on the go to wind down at the end of the day. I also often use essential oils to calm my mind and help me sleep. + What would you tell your 14 year old self? Don't take life so seriously! You are going to grow into a strong, beautiful, confident woman and you can do anything you set your mind to. + How do you want to be remembered? I'd love to be remembered as a kind-hearted woman who was passionate about her work and made people laugh and feel good.
