You know 'those' days? You feel off, you can't focus, you're emotional and potentially cry at the drop of a hat.

Are you with me?

I'm having one of those days today. I'm crying just because and I feel overwhelmed.

It started with my daughter getting a rash around her neck which this morning has started to spread up her face. It breaks my heart to see her beautiful skin red raw, I just want to make it go away for her. Plus...

Washing is all over the house.

A blog post needs to be written.

Cooking needs to be done.

Mother's group is on.

A new module has been released for my course.

Argh!!!! It's all just too much.

So what have I decided to do...

I have decided to do nothing!

Yep I have decided that it can all wait. It is still going to be there tomorrow or the next day or by the weekend. It isn't going anywhere.

Let's go back two years ago...the Kylie back then would have gotten into a tizz over this. She would have stressed out, gotten frustrated and really let overwhelm over take her. But not any more...

As soon as the tears started to well in my eyes this morning and the heaviness of overwhelm made itself at home on my shoulders, I cried and allowed myself to release the emotions that I was feeling. I calmed myself down and said that it's all okay. I then decided to say NO to everything on my 'to-do' list.

Except the writing a blog post part because this was a story I wanted to share as it has a great reminder.

Instead of being in my office writing this, I'm sitting on the couch with a blanket over my legs. I've watched some trashy reality TV. I've read a book. I've played with my bubba. I've made some homemade fruit loaf. I've given myself permission to say no and instead do things that fill my heart with joy.

If any day is a day to say no and treat yourself to down time, it is when you have one of 'those' days.

I'm now feeling so much better and can look back at my morning with a smile on my face. I released the built up emotion in a healthy way and decided to fill up my happiness cup.

Does this sound familiar to you? How do you cope when you have one of 'those' days? What can you do to turn it around into something more positive? Share with us in the comments below.

Oh Kylie, I hear and feel you! I have had a couple of similar days over the past week! I think your tip about just taking time out to do nothing is powerful! Often we need to give ourselves permission to stop the constant 'doing' and just 'be.' (It sounds easier that it actually is). But your blog post depicted this beautifully.

I'm glad you took some time out and you're now feeling better!
