I am so blessed to have the job I do because my clients share some of their deepest feelings and emotions with me and it is truly special. Yesterday during a session with one of my amazing clients we had a beautiful and powerful conversation about taking our loved ones for granted. Without going into detail about her emotions I will share with you my thoughts and feelings that came up during this chat we shared. It all came up because someone she knew died suddenly last week and it really shook her to the core. But it made her realise that no matter what, we need to appreciate our loved ones and make sure we say goodbye every time we leave the house because the wife of this man didn't get that chance because he didn't want to wake her up before he went to work that morning. We all tend to live in our own little world thinking we are untouchable and the horrible stories we hear on TV happen to 'other people'. Well those 'other people' can be us because I am sure those people thought exactly the same thing about themselves and the people around them. Only two things are guaranteed in this life and they are taxes and death, which may make you smile because I know I did when I saw this quote because what could be more opposite. But it is true! It is all about appreciating who we have in our lives and making sure you say 'goodbye' when they leave to go to work and 'I love you' when you get off the phone to them. My husband and I always tell each other 'I love you' when we head out the door or end our phone call, we always say goodbye before either of us leaves the house and we give each other a big hug when we both get home. We do this because we want the other to know they are the most important person in our life. Some people don't have this luxury and it doesn't have to be a luxury, make it part of your relationship. I don't want this post to upset you or make you feel sad, I want this post to remind you to tell your loved ones every single chance you have that you love them; to get off your phone and spend time with them (check out my post from the other week about getting off your phone and start living); appreciate them; fully listen to them when they are talking and embrace them every chance you have.
GET.LOVED.UP We need more love in this world; we are not here forever so while we have the chance let's show our family and friends how much they mean to us. I want you now to grab your phone and write a text message to each and every person in your life that you adore and cherish and let them know how much you love them. Share with me on my Facebook page or the comments below a copy of your text message, I would love to see your beautiful words. A copy of my text message to my wonderful close friends is below... Be happy & healthy,
