Getting out of your comfort zones is one of the scariest things you can do; it gives you butterflies in your tummy and makes your really nervous and anxious. I have another blog post on this very topic which you can read here. I think because I want to push the boundaries of my comfort zone this won't be the last blog post on this topic either; I hope you don't mind! On Saturday I went to Sydney, no biggie right? Well I went by myself and I was shitting myself to put it lightly. I have travelled quite a bit; interstate and overseas but it has always been with someone else, never on my own. My little ego was going crazy in the week leading up, "you're going to get lost", "you are all on your own what if something happens"...blah blah blah!! Even though these thoughts were going through my mind, I never let them win, I still went to Sydney on Saturday. Let me take a step back, the reason I was going to Sydney was because I was attending a workshop for a course I am doing called B-School. The workshop was held by one of my most favourite wellness bloggers, Melissa Ambrosini. It was a day long workshop in the beautiful Bondi Junction, half of me was excited to meet Melissa again but the other part was scared because I didn't know any one. Things work in funny ways I must say, a couple of days beforehand I posted on the event Facebook page asking if any one else was flying to Sydney from Melbourne and a young woman named Kate said she was. We connected and exchanged numbers so I had a friend to go with and now the trip didn't seem all that scary. The point of this blog post is if you keep pushing and take that step outside of your comfort zone, amazing things will happen, you will see that it isn't that bad and you will actually enjoy it more than anything.
I went to Sydney for the day, albeit a huge long day where my make up was half way down my face when I got home, but I made some amazing connections with such inspiring women and I would have missed out on this opportunity if I didn't take that step and not let my ego stop me. Another thing I loved from the day and otherwise would have missed out on if my ego won, was trying amazing healthy food and drinks which let's be honest, Melbourne seems to lack when it comes to health cafes. Kate, Erin (my new friends) and I got to Bondi Junction a little early so we wanted to make the most of what Bondi Junction has to offer so we went and got our morning coffee at Earth To Table where I enjoyed a latte with almond milk (I highly recommend you try this mix), morning tea was delicious juices from Orchard St, coconut mylk Luvju from Loving Earth and activated nuts also from Loving Earth. For lunch we went to The Paleo Café where I enjoyed a yummy chicken, beetroot and walnut salad, with the day finishing off with more Orchard St juice, Seventh Duchess tea and delicious bliss balls. My mouth is salivating now... Take a chance my lovely ones and take that step to amazing-ness, you won't be disappointed I promise you that.
