I just wanted to share a story with you, this morning I was so overwhelmed I started crying. Yes you read right, for the first time in a long time I was crying with utter happiness and joy. I think the last time I truly cried out of happiness was the day my beautiful husband proposed to me (I wept like a baby with such love). This overwhelming emotion really took me by surprise, it was so strong and so real. I am finding it hard to put it into words but I think it was that I realised my dreams had finally come true. It hit me like a ton of big beautiful bricks. In April, I wrote an article for Women's Health and Fitness magazine which is now available (July 2014 issue) and last night I saw it for the first time on my iPad (I have to wait until Thursday for the hard copy), but it was so surreal. I wanted to jump up and down, scream and yell, fist pump and laugh all at once. A dream of mine had come true, I was in a national women's health magazine sharing my wisdom and words for all to see. But what tipped me over the edge this morning was getting an email from a lovely lady who is interested in doing some Skype coaching with me...and she is from Canada! My FIRST international coaching client (hopefully, fingers crossed). I realised I am making a small difference in this big wide world of ours and it set it in stone for me, that I CAN help people from all over the world. My friends, family and you, my amazing readers and clients, see me working and doing my dream job with all these beautiful opportunities but I wanted to share with you some back story, how did I get here... I have worked damn hard to get to where I am today and I just wanted to let you all know that I was once where you are. All this, Radiant Personal Training, wasn't handed to me on a silver platter and I want you to know you can do the same thing. The world is your oyster...discover, explore and find what truly resonates with you.
I have covered a little bit of my back story in a blog post I did in October last year (read it here) but here is a little bit more of my story. I was one of those kids that had NO idea what I wanted to do when high school was over, I always envied the other kids that knew from a young age what they wanted to be when they grew up, not me. After high school I found myself at TAFE studying a Diploma in Event Management (the job sounded cool) and then went onto uni and got my Bachelor of Business. After being made redundant from my event management job, that I absolutely adored, I was lost. I ended up in all sorts of different industries, far far away from where I thought I wanted to be. I was a lost little sheep not knowing where to go. I was a job jumper because I was never happy and there always seemed to be someone that wanted to make my life difficult at work. I have no idea how many jobs I have had...maybe 10 since the age of 15. One thing I always new, was that I wanted to work for myself, but in what? I used to daydream about all these things I could do; any thing to get me out of here. I started many courses and never finished them because it just wasn't what I wanted...Criminology and Case Work to name a couple. So when I told my parents that I had started Certificate III in Fitness, I got a little roll of the eyes, I knew they were thinking "here she goes again, another course that she won't finish". And fair enough Mum and Dad, I now look back and can see why (but I love you both so much). I then finished that and enrolled in Certificate IV and started working at a gym (after I had taken a leap of faith and quit my 9-5 job hoping and praying that it would all turn out ok) and my parents realised I was for real, "Kylie has finally found her calling". I was thinking the same thing as well!! So as you can see finding my true passion of helping people with their health, fitness and wellness was a journey but I honestly wouldn't change anything. I have learnt so much in all my previous jobs that it has prepared me for the admin and business side of having my own business. I want you to know that you too can do whatever it is that you love, take the time to figure it out, be patient and don't be afraid. We all spend way too much time working so make sure it is something you are passionate about and love. Most importantly, DO NOT regret the jobs you have had in the past or your current job, they are teaching you important lessons for when your true passion comes along. Take each day as something to learn and it will benefit you in the future. Just don't take too long to figure out your passion because life goes by so quickly. Grab it by the horns and do it as soon as you feel ready, trust your intuition, it is always right!! I would love to hear your story...what do you love to do? What are you passionate about? Or are you doing what you truly believe in, how did you get there? Share with me in the comments below... P.S After I had finished crying this song popped onto the radio, wow! The universe is telling me that it has my back. Be happy & healthy,
