Today I pressed send on my first email of my free three week email program, Begin Your Radiant Life. WooHoo!! If you are interested but didn't get a chance to sign up last week, please sign up here and I will send you the first email but you will need to sign up before Thursday (9 April) so you don't miss out on any of the other content. Any who... The topic today was all about exercise and movement. I wanted to share with the many ladies who are doing my email program the importance of exercising from a place of love and not from a place of force and resentment. I know I have touched on this topic a couple of times on my blog, but it is super important and something I think we need a gentle nudge to remind us of every now and then. :: How do you feel when you think of exercising? What emotions and thoughts come to the surface?
For me, I have tried so many different things over the years but I always did it from a place of loathing myself. Are you the same? Some of my thoughts for exercising were... + I have to lose weight + I'm so weak and unfit + I don't like what I see in the mirror These are all bad reasons to begin exercising. You need to turn this on its head and do it because you love yourself enough to do so. Instead I now think... + I want to be as healthy as I can be + Exercising makes me feel alive and energetic + I feel strong and like I can take on the world + My body deserve to be loved and cherished Can you feel the difference with these two opposite mindsets? Doesn't the place of love make you smile and want to move your body? Ummm YES!! And doesn't the negative self loathing place make you want to grab some chocolate and wallow in self pity? Moving your body should be fun and something that you want to do. Yes we all have our moments where we would much rather stay on the couch and watch telly. That is okay, you're human! And when that feeling comes up, well listen to it, your mind and body may be telling you to rest today. Just make up that session another day during the week instead, this is an important rule to stick to. Taking the stress away from moving your body is the best thing you can do for your health. You will notice your body respond in such a positive way when you be kind to it. If weight loss is something you want to work on, this will happen a lost easier for you when you take the focus away from a negative space in your mind and heart. Write down what exercise you enjoy doing. If you hate the gym, why are you bothering with a gym membership? Try a group class or an at home program like my Radiant Lifestyle Program instead. If you don't like running, stop pushing yourself into doing it. Find another cardio workout instead that you really enjoy. Yes it may take a bit of trial and error, but once you find the movement you love, exercise will never be an issue for you again. Sound too simple? It is and it should be. Have fun trying new things. I had such a great time when I did a few pole dancing exercise classes and I still highly recommend trying this out. Fun times! What exercise have you forced yourself to do? Are you still doing it? If so, why? Let me know in the comments below, I love reading your stories. Be happy & healthy,

Great post! I totally agree with you! I only can manage light exercises, stretches, light yoga and walking at the moment due to me currently suffering with chronic illness. What I am able to do though makes me feel good. I will be able to manage more one day, but until then I'll keep pushing with what I can.
