You can never prepare what it is going to be like to become a mum for the first time, and I think it is the same with transitioning from one child to two. Now don't get me wrong, I love being a family of four; it is so fulfilling but in today's episode I share with you how I have found the transition. In all honesty, I have found it super challenging at times, and then throw in a diagnosis of anxiety and you have a recipe for struggle town. But it isn't all doom and gloom, I share with you some of things I am doing and have implemented to help make the juggle a little more manageable.

** Trigger warning for this episode - Shaye and I speak about miscarriage and baby loss. Shaye is a mama of three and her story as a mum all started with her daughter Lana. Her second bub Charlee died at 37 weeks due to a true knot and she was born sleeping on the 16th of December 2015 when Lana was only two years-old. Six weeks after the death of Charlee, Shaye became pregnant with James. A few months after the death and birth of Charlee while also being a mum and newly pregnant again; to help Shaye overcome her grief, anxiety and mumlife struggles as a new but bereaved mama, she set out the create something to support women. She felt something had been totally missed to better support her during the trauma of losing Charlee, so Charlee's Basket, a not-for-profit organisation providing a care package to families experiencing the trauma of stillbirth or the death of a baby in the first few moments before or after birth, came to be. Now Lana is almost five and James almost two and Shaye is expecting her fourth baby. Charlee's Basket is now a Sands service and Shaye works side by side some of the best in a devastating industry. Sands exists to provide vital support and information to bereaved families across Australia following miscarriage, stillbirth and neonatal death. ![]()

"There is a stream of love supporting my dreams" - this is the affirmation card I pulled from Gabby Bernstein's 'The Universe Has Your Back' affirmation deck to guide me for what I needed to share with you in today's episode. At first I had no idea what that meant and what I could share, but then it popped into my head that I needed to share with you my journey to how I got to where I am today. From the boring jobs, breaking up with a boyfriend to meeting my husband and taking the leap of faith to start my own business. Life throws us crap at times, but there are lessons in it all and this episode is a little sneak behind the curtain of my personal life. I hope it inspires you to trust and listen to your own wisdom so you too can live your healthiest and happiest life. |
