I came across some great tips in the different pre-natal classes I did so I have added them in for you as well.
The one that stood out for me the most was to have the items I want to wear and use after labour in a separate plastic bag. This will make it a lot easier for the midwife or your partner to grab and pop it into the bathroom ready for you to use when shower time comes.
Please remember every hospital is different so I have based the list on what I have personally packed for me and my bub. My hubby is in charge of his own bag. I haven't put the number you should pack of each item on the list because it will completely depend on what you think you will need and how long your hospital is likely to keep you in for.
Know if you forget something or didn't pack enough of something else you can always get someone to go and get it for you. The things you want to remember are the items you want with you during labour (if this is the option you have). I know for me, I will taking lavender essential oil, iPod full of different types of music and one of my birthing books as it has prompts for during labour if I need it to manage the pain. I am opting for a natural birth with limited to no pain relief if I can.
I hope this packing list helps you out. Remember to pack as early as you feel comfortable with. I had wanted to pack mine at 30 weeks and did't get a chance to, but the day I found out about my cervix, my husband and I packed all our bags ready to go that night. And lucky we did because I was then off to the hospital in the early hours of that morning.
Share with us in the comments below anything else you took with you to hospital that I didn't mention or let me know if if you are going to use my packing list. I would love to see a photo of you excitedly packing your hospital bag with my list.
