Maternity leave, you are either counting down the days or you are a little nervous with finishing up work. Whether you are returning to work or are hanging up the corporate clothes for a stay at home mum role, feelings will probably surface.
As I write this blog post for you, I am 32 weeks pregnant. I am finishing up at 36 weeks it is working a little longer than I would like, but fears and anxiety have surfaced for me about taking a few months off.
+ If I don't work I don't get paid
+ Are we going to have enough money to live off
+ Will I have clients when I return to work later in the year
And there are heaps more, but you get the idea. My mean girl is in full swing trying to make me freak out and live in fear, when really I should be getting excited that my baby will be in my arms in a few weeks time. That should be my focus...looking after me and bub until that moment arrives.
In my video blog below, I speak to you about these fears and what I am trying to do to overcome them. As well as touching on my process to get paid paternity leave from the Government.
How are you feeling? Are you counting down the days until you go on maternity leave? Or are you feeling a little like me? Share with me in the comments below...
Just know that whatever you are feeling is completely okay. You can feel whatever it is that you need to feel, but if it is your mean girl trying to scare you, then work on that. Turn your thoughts around.
You need to enjoy this time as you are about to become a mother. So exciting!!
