After a few weeks to get my head around everything that has happened over the past month and beyond, I am ready to share my birth story with you.
My daughter, Ava, came into the world on Thursday 21st May 2015. The skies were overcast and there was a chill in the air letting us know that winter was only around the corner.
Earlier that day I had been relaxing in bed listening to a podcast (She Makes Magic), then did my meditation and had a shower. After my shower I felt so emotional I spent a good 10 minutes crying on my bed...truly sobbing. I had no idea why but I went with it and let the emotion out.
I had been watching Bridget Jones's Diary while eating lunch when something started to happen, something that felt different to the Braxton Hicks contractions that I had been getting for a few weeks.

Packing for hospital can be a little daunting because you have no idea what to pack or where to begin. So this week I have taken the guess work out of it for you and put together a hospital packing list for you, baby and daddy/partner. You can print it out and cross off the items as you go. Easy!
I came across some great tips in the different pre-natal classes I did so I have added them in for you as well.
The one that stood out for me the most was to have the items I want to wear and use after labour in a separate plastic bag. This will make it a lot easier for the midwife or your partner to grab and pop it into the bathroom ready for you to use when shower time comes.
Please remember every hospital is different so I have based the list on what I have personally packed for me and my bub. My hubby is in charge of his own bag. I haven't put the number you should pack of each item on the list because it will completely depend on what you think you will need and how long your hospital is likely to keep you in for.
