Tips to keep on track this Christmas...

Christmas is a time of the year that people either love or loath, me...I love Christmas it is my favourite time of the year. Christmas parties, food, family, friends, Christmas trees and lots of laughs plus you get to give to others. But it can be dangerous to your waist line so here are a couple of tips on how to get through this festive season without blowing out plus a quick effective work out that you can squeeze in over the holiday period.

+ Have a snack before you go to that Christmas party; it could be a protein shake, tuna on crackers, tub of yoghurt etc. Just get something into your belly so when you arrive at the party you aren't starving and won't regret how much you ate and drank later.

+ Still exercise! I know it is a busy time of the year but it is no excuse to slack off on your exercise, this time of the year is when you need to move so you don't end up with those extra couple of kilos. Even if it is a walk each day, it is something and you are still moving.

+ You walk into the party and there is delicious looking food everywhere, what do you do? Flex your will power muscle is what you do. Grab your plate, put on there the food that you are eyeing off and eat slowly! Once your plate is empty wait 10 minutes before you go back for seconds. This will allow time for the food to digest and you probably won't be hungry any more.

+ Don't hang around the food table. Once you have your plate of food, walk away from the table. If you stand next to it chatting away, mindless eating comes into play and you will soon forget how much you ate (not good).

But please do remember that it is Christmas time so eat in moderation and enjoy all the treats that come with this time of the year. Just try to flex your will power muscle so you don't over do it and feel guilty afterwards. Food isn't the enemy, it is there to be enjoyed!
