Steps to get your mindset in tip top shape...

If there is one thing that I have learned since changing careers a couple of years back, is that mindset matters! Whether that be in regards to fitness and nutrition or your career, money and relationships.



If your mindset is scattered and your negative nancy voice is turned up higher than your reason, then you are going to find it hard to be wherever it is you want to be or have whatever you want to have. 



About 3 or so years ago, I started my wellness journey. It took me 12 months to lose and keep 10kg off as I would lose some, put some on, lose some, put some on and so it goes. But I managed to finally change my mindset and that is when my weight stabilised and the 10kg stayed off, and still has to this day. Minus when I was pregnant and gained 15kg.



I changed my eating, and exercising became part of my life, but it wasn't until I learned the power of my mindset, that magic started to happen. The stress lifted from the pressure I used to put on myself and I stopped doing things that I didn't want to do any more. 



Cue, studying personal training and quitting my events job.



I now look back and thank goodness for stumbling across self-love and how to manage my inner mean girl. 



The effort is so worth the reward. 



If you follow me on Instagram, you will see I put up a few photos of sunrises, oh my! I can't believe that I used to ignore and take no notice of this before.



The simple things in life are more enjoyable and the gratitude you feel is beyond.

In my upcoming Melbourne workshop, Unlock Your Inner Wellness Goddess, I will be diving deep into my four mindset must have's and how you can start to dive deep into those, explore your thoughts and feelings and then put into place strategies for you to implement into your life. 



Like I mentioned above, mindset is where it is at!

To start the mindset exploration, you need to be pumped and ready to put in the work to reap the results. It isn't an overnight sensation, it is a marathon that takes time.



One step at a time. And as you practice more, the easier it becomes. 



First I would love for you to answer these questions:

+ How do I see my current mindset right now? 
+ What areas of my life do I find I beat myself up about the most? 
+ What areas of my life am I happy and content with? 
+ How would I like my life to look? How do I want to feel? Think? Be?




Sit with these answers. Feel them and let the words just flow out of you as they need to.

Now I want you to answers these questions:

+ How would I like my mindset to be? 
+ What small changes can I implement today to improve my mindset towards the areas I beat myself up about the most?
+ Turn your above answers for how would I like my life to look, feel, think and be, into affirmations. E.g. "I feel worthy of abundance" or "I am full of joy and love". Whatever feels good for you.

Make a commitment to yourself to take one small step each week towards shifting your mindset.



For me, I write down things I am grateful for before I go to bed each night, but if I miss a day, I don't beat myself up. There should be no guilt attached if you miss a day or two. Just don't give up, keep going.



I also stop my train of thought when I know my mean girl is talking, I question it and ask is this reality or is this made up. Yes sometimes she gets away from me but that is life, but the more you practice the quicker you will be at stopping her and questioning her.

Thank you for sharing this powerful article! I've been working on my mindset more than ever as I quit my corporate job about a month ago to move full time into my wellness coaching business. And wow, does it throw plenty of challenges my way! Monitoring and shifting my mindset has been so important to find the determination, inspiration and tenacity to keep going every day and to keep working towards my purpose. The best thing I've learned is to shake up my mood by dancing to music, getting into nature, cuddling my puppy, taking a bath or whatever other form of self care my intuition tells me I need:) xx
