When it comes to losing weight or wanting to eat better you need to think of it as a change that will last forever (or as per Radiant's saying...it's a lifestyle change).
The word DIET needs to be banned from your vocabulary because this word automatically makes you think short term; plus I don't believe diets work. Diets usually make you cut something out of your diet whether it be carbs, you can only eat protein, you can only eat soup or juices etc...you get what I'm saying.
Well I'm sorry to say but your body needs all minerals and nutrients and that includes carbs.
When it comes to carbs, yes you need to be weary that you don't overindulge, so I tell my clients to think about what they are eating, for example if you are having toast for breakfast then don't have bread again for lunch. It is all about being mindful of what you are putting in your mouth!
Now don't get me wrong, we all need to start somewhere with our lifestyle change and this may include a 6, 8, 10 or 12 week plan but just make sure that you have the mindset to carry on with it past that amount of time. I started my weight loss journey and lifestyle change with Michelle Bridge's 12 Week Body Transformation back in 2011 and I still now cook using those recipes from her program; they are delish!
Make sure you are committed and believe me you will fall off the wagon (this is real life) but make sure you get back on the wagon as fast as you can and don't beat yourself up about it. Things happen and life gets in the way but the alternative to leading a healthy lifestyle is sickness, tiredness and moodiness; now no body wants that!
A good quote that I saw...
"You are what you eat, so don't be fast, cheap, easy or fake"!
Be happy & healthy,
