The word spiritual has many meanings depending on you who are and what your religion is. For this post, spiritual is diving into your heart space and listening to your own intuition.
This topic has nothing to do with fitness and nutrition, but it is a topic that is special to me due to my own sensitive abilities which you can read about here.
I have felt a strong pull lately to speak more about intuition and spirituality, so I'm going to go with it. If this topic isn't for you, don't worry I will still be talking about fitness, nutrition and mindset, just with a side of spirituality.
When I got the fitness and nutrition part of my life right, I still felt as though something was missing and beginning a spiritual practice made it complete for me. It was the missing puzzle piece.
So I wanted to share with you what you can do to begin this practice for yourself.
Simple and easy.
1 ~ MEDITATE
I'm sure you have heard this a hundred times before, but it is true. There is nothing like meditation to get your brain to quieten down, which makes space for true thoughts and feelings to come through. This is where the genius is at. These thoughts and feelings are coming from a place of love not a place of fear, which is what your ego/mean girl/negative nancy/inner voice is all about.
The type of meditation you do is completely up to you, but to begin with, do a guided meditation. These are simple and all you have to do is sit there, close your eyes, relax and listen.
Once you have come out of your meditation, grab your journal and make note of anything that came up for you. Words, thoughts, feelings, emotions and so on.
2 ~ ANGEL/ORACLE/POSITIVE AFFIRMATION CARDS
I love my angel cards and I have been using them on and off since I was a young teenager. I love them so much I now offer angel card readings as one of my services. They provide you with some extra guidance and support for your day, week, month or for a particular situation or question.

3 ~ GET JOURNALLING
Remember when you were a teenager and had a diary? Dear Diary...such and such. Yep I want you to begin this again.
This is gold right here!! Not only can you realise any feelings of stress or anxiety by writing them down but you can also get some amazing wisdom come through by free writing.
You can begin by just keeping track of your gratitude each day and then work towards free writing.
What is free writing you ask? Well it is simply that, allow yourself to just write. It might begin with what you are doing and how you are feeling today and then just let your thoughts spill out onto the pages. Don't force anything, just let flow easily and naturally.
4 ~ CRYSTALS
Crystals aren't only pretty, they are really helpful with all different areas of your life. I have them all around my house for different purposes. The important thing to remember with crystals is to cleanse them, you can do this by putting them under running water, or my favourite, laying them out in the full moon, moon light.
The one tip I have about crystals is, let them choose you. When you go to a shop that sells crystals, go for the ones that stand out to you. When you check their meaning I can almost guarantee it will be exactly what you need in your life at that time.
Remember that not everything is going to resonate with you, so do what works for you and leave the rest. I hope this helps you begin your spiritual journey. It is a special one that I cannot recommend highly enough.
