Finding & connecting with your soul sisters...

Over the past 12 months I have really been putting energy into networking and connecting with like minded people. And it has been so beautiful and rewarding!

Now don't get me wrong, I love my friends that have been in my life for years and years but as I am growing into myself as a business woman, some of things I am into just aren't what they are into...and that is absolutely fine!

Does this ring any bells for you?

//

When I first started getting into meditation, crystals, blogging, self-care and spirituality I felt a little alone. I asked myself, "what do I have in common with my friends now?" It was a sad moment.

This transformation path I was taking was different to theirs. But after meeting with some beautiful like minded women, I realised that my current friends provide me with something else. Something different. Something I still need and cherish.

Not every topic of conversation I have needs to be about meditation, who's blog are you loving right now or attending the latest sacred dance party. It is all about balance. And this is what my dear dear friends provide me with.

Once I had this realisation, it all seemed to fall into place and I let go of that loneliness I thought was there.

Have you found your soul sisters?

I found mine through online eCourses, and the biggest one for me has been Bright-Eyed & Blog-Hearted, which I know you have heard me rave on about many a time.

"Get present. Show your face. Get out there. Let people get to know you. Who knows what will come out of it.

I love supporting and interacting on the BE&BH Facebook group and this is how I met a lot of wonderful women. We now have our own little group for everyone that lives in Victoria and this is where we organise catch ups.

I first met with four beautiful ladies last June I think it was. Over coffee in a little cafe we spoke about everything that I adore. I had never had a conversation like this before. It was so inspiring and fulfilling. We all connected so easily and organically, it was like we had known each other for years.

This has then flowed into other catch ups and support of each others business's. No competition here, we are all lovingly cheering each other on.

Over the past couple of week's I have met up with some other blogging ladies and amazing conversations and ideas have come out of these meet ups. My re-brand of my business for example! Now that was a HUGE change for me and something that scared the living daylights out of me. But chatting with her, she just knew I had to make the change and told me so.

Connecting with like minded people, your tribe or soul sisters...whatever you want to call it, is truly something special. Something I feel every woman needs in their life, no matter what you love or are into.

Leave your apprehensions at the door.

Allow yourself to immerse in the moment and soak up all the goodness that comes from being around these people.

I love the BE&BH group too! Nothing beats meeting face to face though - and that's where I struggle given that I live way over on the East Coast of NZ! Beautiful spot, but not the entrepreneurial hub I'd like it to be just yet :-)

How good is it Emma?! Face to face connection is so special. I haven't been to NZ but definitely a place on my travel list...it looks like a stunning place. I'm sure you will find some soul connections and in the mean time keep connecting where you can with like minded women :) xx

Soul sister connections are amazing. I have met some beautiful people through the Beautiful You Coaching Academy.

I have also loved BE&BH space for meeting like-minded people. I 'm in the Vic Bloghearts group as well, but I haven't yet been to a meet-up as I live in Regional Vic at the moment. I'm moving to Melbourne in the middle of the year so hopefully 2015 will be the year I make it to a BE&BH catch up and hopefully meet some of the awesome people in real life :-)

That is awesome!! I am looking into doing the Beautiful You coaching course in October :)

Pity you live so far from Melbourne, but if you are moving here soon, I look forward to hopefully meeting you at a BE&BH catch up!! xx

Can definitely relate, Kylie x I feel blessed as my 3 closest friends are friends I studied with many moons ago, and they're also wellness practitioners (two are Naturopaths and one is a Chinese Medicine Doctor), so I'm lucky to have their understanding. But yes, definitely the more I move into my coaching business and online, the more I crave and LOVE connection with like-minded people in real life (out of online groups), who are happy to chat about ideas/ business..and things that would bore other people! And I'm loving my new connections and friendships and this year, it's a part of investing in myself and my business - attending workshops, events and joining a networking group - to connect with a tribe of gorgeous, talented and beautiful entrepreneurial women! And to collaborate - I love that word and everything it brings. It's exciting. x

That is so special Katie that your 3 closest friends are also in the wellness world!
I have decided to make this year about networking and attending workshops too. I want to connect and, I love your word, collaborate with others. Thank you so much for sharing!! xx

Hello Kylie,
Gorgeous post...and so glad I found this today! Totally affirming for me (having just moved to a new town) to go seek my girl tribe of soul sistas here, where I live! I am blessed to have the most stunningly, inspirational and gorgeous sistas all over Australia and I love them to pieces - old friends and new, but there is that something special about having your girls physically close and those shared experiences of goodness! Thank you x

I had such a great experience at a recent soul sister gathering - the Kinfolk Festival. It was so energising being with 80+ like minded women, being creative and networking. I blogged about it if you want to have a read xx A

I know that feeling... I have pretty much done the same. They understand how hard I am working but I still feel bad when I spend a whole weekend (or three) networking and hanging out with 'new blog friends'. If you're aware of it that's a great start and those who are meant to stick around will :)

Yep I know what you mean Bec!! And like you said, you are aware of the situation so you can manage it as best you can. If your other friends don't understand then maybe they aren't meant to be in your life any longer...which can be sad but I have had the same thing happen to me. Thank you so much for sharing!! xx

Hi Lennae!!

Bright Eyed & Blog Hearted is an online blogging course through the beautiful Rachel MacDonald. I believe she is thinking of holding the next course in the next couple of months. Here is the website (http://inspacesbetween.com/bright-eyed-and-blog-hearted/)

The course is fabulous and as you can see from the above comments, the community Rachel has created is so supportive and loving. xx
